Diaphragm Pressure Gauges
Diaphragm pressure gauges have one of the most popular working mechanisms. They feature a circular membrane often made using sheet metal. The sheet metal has precise dimensions that can be corrugated or flat. At the same time, the diaphragm connects mechanically with a special transmission mechanism designed to amplify the minute deflections coming from the diaphragm. The deflections are then sent to a pointer sitting against a gauge to give you a reading that you can interpret.
The most important component of this working mechanism is the diaphragm. It is sensitive to changes in pressures as it elongates and contracts to initiate the pressure reading process.
Bourdon Pressure Gauges
Bourdon pressure gauges come with a circular Bourdon tube to do the pressure detection tasks. The circular tube bends over an angle of about two-hundred and seventy degrees with one closed end. The other end of the tube connects to the process pressure. When the pressure reaches the inside of the tube, the tube straightens rather than sitting at an angle. A transmission mechanism picks up this straightening movement from the tip of the tube and sends the impulses to the device's scale.
Capsule Pressure Gauges
Some pressure gauges work through a capsule mechanism to deliver the pressure readings to you. In this case, pressure gauge specialists corrugate two diaphragms and weld them together to form the periphery of the capsule. During measurement, the pressure reaches the capsule through an opening on the middle section of the first diaphragm. Meanwhile, the middle section of the second diaphragm detects the pressure impulses and sends them to the transmission mechanism. The transmission amplifies them and allows you to get a reading off the scale.
